There is that special moment between preparation and setting sail. The lines are still tied down, the nautical charts are still on the table, and yet one’s thoughts are already wandering to what might lie beyond the horizon.
The Princess Sophie is currently in exactly this phase.
Work on board is underway, equipment is being checked, and lists keep getting longer and then shorter again. At the same time, something else is growing: the anticipation. This is especially true for Ralf, who is no longer just counting down the days until the start of thedelivery cruise, but is actively watching them pass. Just a few more weeks, and then on July 1, it’s time to cast off.
On land, too, the journey is slowly taking shape. The website is growing bit by bit. New content is being added, pictures are finding their place, and in the “Trips” section, the first voyages are gradually being introduced. Some routes have already been finalized, while others are still taking shape from ideas, conversations, and the occasional map that’s being pored over a bit longer.
Today’s post also marks the launch of a new section of the website: the logbook.
This is where we’ll be reporting from aboard in the future—sometimes in more detail, sometimes more briefly. Sometimes about longer trips, sometimes about little incidents that nobody really planned but are worth sharing precisely because of that. Not according to a fixed schedule, but as life on board unfolds—at regular, irregular, and sometimes probably quite irregular intervals.
So to all visitors to the website, we say: Welcome aboard. We’re glad you’re here.
